Kanjivaram Silk Sarees

Kanjivaram sarees are often considered the epitome of Indian silk weaves. Crafted by hand in the temple town of Kanchipuram, located in Tamil Nadu, these sarees are produced using pure mulberry silk adorned with genuine gold or silver zari. The unique characteristics that distinguish a Kanjivaram saree include its substantial weight, brilliant lustre, and the special weaving technique in which the body and border are created separately and subsequently interlocked — a process known as korvai.
